I love raiding my husbands closet for summer top re-vamps
I raided my husbands closet to find shirts we had bought at the thrift stores that he no longer wears. I loved this shirt on him but after a bleach incident on the sleeve he not longer wore it. I wanted to learn how to do shirring on a top. I cut the shirt off under the sleeve. I hemmed the top edge and sewed the button area closed. The started my shirring. It went well except for the front area where the thick area is. So I found an old pattern on how to crochet a flower for the front, and attached it to the front with a shiny silver buttons. After realizing that the flower made the top a little to heavy to stay up I crocheted the straps to hold everything up. It is SOOOOOOO comfy and cool to wear on those hot summer days :-)
