This recipe is our family's Christmas tradition! Every year my Grandma would bring this over on Christmas Eve. I didn't have her recipe, so I made up my own! Serve it with ketchup, chili sauce or even mustard. It also freezes well so you can make it ahead of time.

Assemble your ingredients. Grate up your carrots, dice your onions and celery. Peel the potatoes and boil them while you are cooking the ground beef. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.
In an electric frypan (or stovetop) brown the meat. Drain if necessary and then add onions, celery and carrots.
When the potatoes are done, mash them with a fork.
Start to add the beef broth and the potatoes a bit at a time. Just keep adding until you get a nice consistency. You will know when you have the right texture.
Time to season! Add salt and pepper to taste. The most important seasoning is dried sage. I usually use 2 teaspoons, but everyone is different. Add as much as you like!
Prepare your pie crust. I usually make my own. The best pie crust recipe I have found is on the Crisco box. The key to a nice flaky crust is not to play with it too much. You can also buy the your pie crust. Spoon in your meat mixture. Roll out another for the top.
Pinch the top crust and I always cut out air holes on the top crust for decoration. Bake until the meat pie is golden brown. Slice and enjoy!!!
