Always allow paint to dry between applications. Use the craft knife to carefully cut 10% the front face of the letter, leaving a small rim along each edge.
Paint the entire letter with Metallic Silver. Use a dry stencil brush to randomly apply Maui Sand to the letter for a weathered look.
Plan the placement of the lights in the letter and make a mark where each light will come through the letter from the back. The marks (holes) cannot be further apart than the distance between lights on the string, but not so close that the ping pong balls will touch. Use the craft knife to cut a small hole at each mark. Insert the lights from back to front through the holes. Wrap any excess lights under the wires and tape down on the letter back.
Use the craft knife to cut a small “X” in each ping pong ball. Slip a ball over each light.
