Combine the whimsy of a Marimekko print with the thoughfulness of a handmade gift and you have a very practical little emergency kit for all your friends. So easy to make... from a potholder!

    Step 1

    Attach loop to potholder -
    Form a loop from a 4 1/2" piece of double fold bias tape and stitch it to the center top inside of potholder.

    Step 2

    Attach the button to the outside of the potholder. A vintage button is always fun to use.

    Make and attach a yo-yo fabric flower -
    All you need is a fabric scrap. Then stitch the flower to the outside of the potholder. You can find the tutorial for Yo-Yo flowers on my page.

    Step 4

    Make and attach a Boho fabric flower -
    These are easy to make from a fabric scrap as well; you can check out the tutorial on my page.

    Stitch the Boho flower to the the center of the yo-yo flower.

    Attach Ziplock bags to potholder -
    Take about 5 Ziplock snack bags and place them on top of each other. Using a needle and thread, make a secure stitch through the bottom center of the pile.

    Then stitch the group of bags to the center inside of the potholder.

    Fill the baggies with emergency supplies. This is the fun part! Some ideas include bobby pins, pony-tail holder, one dollar bill, loose coins, postage stamp, Advil, Q-tips, safety pins, and more. Trust me, this thoughtful gift quickly becomes just as useful as it is adorable!
