Another Father's day gift :)
For the other part of the father's day gift for my dad I made him a key chain with things I thought he might like. Hopefully. I hope you enjoy the how to :)

  • Step 1

Okay, so we will start with army men. The first thing I did was cut off the little stand he was on, the thing his feet are grounded too. I thought it would look better. Cut carefully or you snap a foot. Use the eyebrow grooming scissors to get into tiny nooks. Since it is pretty thick, flip him over and file down his feet so they aren't as thick. I used a regular nail file, but sand paper would work too. His rifle thingy had a few (a few? Cheep dollar store toys.) trigger holes so put a jump.split ring through that. Done with the army men! Of course if you don't have a pre made hole you can make one with a sharp object :)

  • Step 2

Chess piece: Now for the chess piece. I picked the knight. Try to get a hollow chess piece of plastic so you don't have to drill a hole. I made two holes in the ear, one on the top of his ear, one where an ear lobe would be. I don't know what I used. It was pointy and I found it in the kitchen. Stock a jump ring through that. By the way after I punctured the hole I found out I almost broke the ear off because the ear was not actually hollow, so I used an eye pin with tacky glue thought the lobe hole (by golly, that sounds inappropriate)

  • Step 3

Now you choose your last ornaments. I chose a bullet charm that I got with a dog tag necklace from a vending machine. I wanted to engrave leather scraps, but that didn't end up working out. So now used the generally same idea to put that onto jump ring too. Now take yet another jump ring and attach all the other charms onto it. Make sure it is tight. Now with yes, yo guessed it, another jump ring, attach it in the middle of the key chain loop and the charm ring. You're done! How to make a simple keychain :)
