For the purpose of this project you will need wooden draining rack, hacksaw, water-based gloss paint, brushes, sandpaper, scrap piece of wood, drill, screws and screwdriver, large screw-in hooks. Using a hacksaw trim the pieces of the drainer, so that it looks like a ladder. Clean it well to remove all dirt inside the edges. With a small paint brush apply the water-based gloss paint of your choice (you are advised to choose a colour that will suit the rest of your interior). Painting the drainer is tricky. Turn it around to make sure you haven't missed a spot. Brush away any blobs of paint before they dry. Preparing the base of your letter rack is not that difficult, either. You just need a thick piece of fibreboard, that is cut to the same size as the rack, then sand, prime, pain and wait for it to dry. Using a drill attach the rack to the base firmly. Hopefully this was helpful. Whatever instructions I may give you, you still need a lot of imagination and mostly freedom and confidence to experiment. Don't worry if you get it wrong the first time. You will get better!
