  Step 1

  I used this jewelry stamping kit from MakersKit.

• 

  Step 2

  Here's everything you'll need that's inside the kit: hammer, letter/number metal stamps, 4 jump rings, 4 gold metal blanks, an antique gold ball chain, and some brown suede cord.

• 

  Step 3

  Make sure you have a hard, sturdy surface to do your stamping. Do a couple practice stamps onto scrap cardboard before you use the metal blanks so you get a feel for how hard you'll need to stamp.

  Step 4

  Tape down your metal blank so that it won't move. This can also help you keep your letters aligned.

• 

  Step 5

  You'll want to a firm hold on the stamp and hold it near the base to keep it stable. Position it onto your metal blank and use your hammer to give it a good, strong tap or two. Repeat with the rest of the letters.

  Step 6

  To make the stamping darker, use a permanent marker and color over the stamp.

• 

  Step 7

  Use a damp tissue to wipe off the excess. Be sure not to wait too long after you use the permanent marker or else it'll be much harder to wipe off.

  Step 8

  Attach the finished blank to included jump ring.

• 

  Step 9

  String the blank onto the included suede cord or ball chain.
