i made this for my sister in-laws birthday, the idea was she could put it in my nephews room and then stick the pictures he paints on it (plus anything else she fancied)

    one canvas.

    shake/stir the magnetic primer like mad.

    im using Marabu Magnetico "other brands are available

    apply the magnetic primer to the whole of the canvas. you can test it as you go along but you're probly gunna need at least two or three coats.

    ya need to leave it to dry (12-24 hours apparently, im not that patient, push ya luck, go on i dare ya)

    you'll know when its dry coz it wont be as sparkly

    get ya roller and start applying ya paint, any acylic paint will do

    you'll need a coupla coats or it'll look patchy like this, don't worry bout the join too much coz that'll be covered over anyway.

    design ya monster, i had this in my sketch book and he seemed to fit what i was after

    make a stencil of your design and lay it over the canvas, i use freezer paper for my stencils coz you can iron it in place, but you'll have to be careful with this.

    once the paint is dry, paint over the stencil with blackboard paint (marabu again) again you'll need a coupla coats, make sure you protect the rest of your canvas though.

    and ya done. get some chalk - draw

    i went over some patchy bits which are still wet in this pic...

    probly shoulda taken another pic of it dry before i gave it away
