These are pretty little accessories made out of your unwanted fashion magazines! I made them as Hair Slides but you can easily adapt them into xmas decorations, rings, badges or keyrings... Please comment me and tell me how you got on!

Instructions

  1. Small 3706

First, find an old magazine and flick to about halfway through it. Next take you scissors and cut the desired shape the whole way through the first half of the magazine. This is easy as you really only need to cut the shape once!

  2. Small 3707

Once you have cut them out you should have a large number of identical paper shapes. Look through your shapes until you find one to use as you front. The magazine cover is good for this as it it usually stronger. I have chosen the bow on the far right.

  3. Small 3708

Next, gather all your paper shapes together and staple them back to front, so only a little bit of the staple is showing on your front bow. I found after I tried this that two staples are harder for the next step, but its up to you.

  4. Small 3709

Take a hair slide ( preferably one with a small glue bud at the tip) and slot it through under the staple. Make Sure you slot through the slightly smaller length of the hair slide ( the one which normally would face outwards). If it is wobbly then secure with super glue.

  5. Small 3710

Next ruffle up the edges of your layers of paper bows to give it volume.

  6. Small 3711

The last step is just to find a cute decoration, I've used a tiny material bow, and stick it in the centre of you bow with super glue. Enjoy!
