Place the first 6 strings on the wooden dowel using the Lark’s Head Knot.
Fix the wooden dowel on a flat surface using masking tape.
Take the first 4 strings and tie a Square Knot.
Tie two more Square Knots with the remaining string.
Set aside the first and last two strings and with the remaining 8 strings, tie two Square Knots.
Use the four strings in the middle to tie a Square Knot.
Take one of the 1-meter long string and place it on the left of your macrame piece using the Lark’s Head Knot. Make sure the end of the left is 40cm long and the end on the right about 60cm.
The long end on the right is the guide. Tie all the other strings on it using the Double Half Hitch Knot.
Take the end of the guide string and place it over and behind the wooden stick and pull it forward. Pull.
Take the guide string and place it behind and over the wooden stick and through the front into the loop just made. Pull.
Take a new 1-meter long string and repeat steps 7-10 to make a new row of Double Half Hitch Knots. Make sure this row is as close as possible to the previews row.
Take the last 1-meter long string and place it on the left of your macrame piece using the Lark’s Head Knot. Make sure the end of the left is 40cm long and the end on the right about 60cm.
Next repeat step 9-10 making a bow with your guide string under your two rows of Double Half Hitch Knots.
Cut 16 pieces of 25cm of string and place them on your bow using the Lark’s Head Knot, you might have to cut a few more pieces to fill the bow from left to right, depending on the size of your bow.
Take both ends of the last 1-meter string and make two knots. You will use this to hang your macrame.
Use the comb or pet brush to comb the fringe and then cut at the desired length.
Repeat step 15 with the other part of the macrame.
