Description

This is a tutorial for stud earrings looking like the french cookies, macarons. They are made of polymer clay and you don't need any special tools to make them.

Instructions

The materials you need are two different colours of polymer clay, one for the macaron cookies and one for the filling. You need a toothpick, some superglue, some sort of blade or knife, and earring posts.

  2. Small 113662 2f2016 03 11 182911 2img 3558 fixad

Start by rolling two small balls out of one of the colours of polymer clay. Press down an the balls creating two discs. This will become one of the macaron cookies.

  3. Small 113662 2f2016 03 11 183017 3img 3561 fixad

Place the discs on top of each other and press them together slightly.

  4. Small 113662 2f2016 03 11 183057 4img 3565 fixad

With the toothpick distress the sides of the lower disc mimicking the feet of macarons.

  5. Small 113662 2f2016 03 11 183217 5img 3571 fixad

Repeat steps 2-4 again so you have two macaron cookies made up of a total of four discs.

  6. Small 113662 2f2016 03 11 183309 6img 3575 fixad

Roll a small ball out of the other colour of polymer clay. Press down on it creating a thin disc (thinner than previously).

  7. Small 113662 2f2016 03 11 183402 7img 3577 fixad

You should now have two macaron cookies and one disc of the lighter colour for the filling.

  8. Small 113662 2f2016 03 11 183445 8img 3580 fixad

Press the three layers together making sure that the "feet" of the macarons (the distressed part) are toward the middle.

  9. Small 113662 2f2016 03 11 183601 9img 3586 fixad

With the blade cut the macaron in two.

  10. Small 113662 2f2016 03 11 183636 10img 3589 fixad

You should now have two halves of a complete macaron. Bake the polymer clay macaron halves according to the polymer clay packaging. This differs between different brands of polymer clay, so make sure to read on the packaging.

  11. Small 113662 2f2016 03 11 183840 11img 3605 fixad

Use superglue to glue the earring posts to the back of the macaron halves.
