Description

Kitschy-cute crocheted record pot holder. They are nice and thick, protecting your hands and counter-tops in style! Made in rounds with single crochet stitches in back loops only (to create record grooves).

Instructions

  1. (make 2) chain 4, slip stitch in first chain to form a ring. round 1: single crochet 8 stitches into middle of ring. round 2: single crochet 2 stitches into back loops of each stitch. round 3: repeat round 2. round 4: sc 1 stitch into back loop of each stitch in previous round. round 5: * 1 sc in one stitch, 2 sc in next stitch. (repeat from * until next round) round 6: sc in each stitch round 7 on: keep alternating between stitches done in rounds 5 and 6, making adjustments where needed to keep the piece flat. Keep with pattern until desired size for pot holder. Fasten off.

    Trace mouth of cup or other round pattern template onto colored felt. Decorate with embroidery, fabric paints, or permanant markers.Cut 2 round pieces of colored felt to make record labels (one for each side). Hand stitch label to center of each side of crocheted record. Finally, slip stitch all around both sides of crochet record (with "grooves" facing outward) to keep both pieces together and make your pot holders thick enough to keep your lil' fingers nice and cool. Now, go make some cookies!!
