I am a crafthead. And Halloween will always be my favorite Holiday. That being said, I also like to combine the two and come up with my own creations instead of spending my entire paycheck on those that are already made. i got very lucky with this idea. I was looking for ideas to decorate my place for this October and came across some good stuff to use to make a Ghost. But not just a Ghost...a flowing light Ghost! I found a roll of chicken wire that I had got from Home Depot for about 11 dollars and some nice flowy white fabric that I was never going to use for anything. Combined the two together, added a flashlight. Bam! Success in under $25! I also did an optional hook and wire to hang the ghost but it's entirely up to you on how you plan to use it. But before we can even get to that point, I'd like to show you how you can make your ghost buddy exist. If you have as much patience as I did and live to make crafts like this than this project is definitely for you!

Unroll the desired Length of your chicken wire that you want it to be and cut it. NOTE: When dealing with this type of material, it's better to wear gloves and/or a long sleeve shirt while doing this to avoid small cuts since the ends of the wire are prickly and a little sharp.
Gather the wire into a ghost form and try to make a head shape the best you can. This is to get a good idea of how big you want the head. If it wont stay in place, don't panic. Tying under the head of the Ghost with some beading or Floral wire (floral works best) should do the trick. Do it tight but not too tight. Just enough to reshape the head once you're done. :) Again, please wear gloves for this. It's nice to protect your hands from things like this. I didn't and paid a little price for doing so. >.<
This is how it should look afterwards so far. You've finished the base of the ghost! Go you! :D
Next, grab a small LED flashlight of your choice and attach it on the inside of the Ghost. I put mines at the bottom so that it can light as much of the body as possible. It helps to have a flashlight with holes that carries a keychain. Feeding the beading wire through those holes and then through the chicken wire holes can give a more secure fit and wont fall. Continue to wrap the beading wire around the flashlight through the chicken wire holes and vice versa to ensure that you have an extra hold on it. I did this several times and added knots as well. >.<
Now that we've secured the flashlight. All the hard parts are finished. And if you have stuck with me up to this point then congratulations! you've earned yourself a reward which is the fun part of this project. :D So now we will set our Ghost model back on the ground so we can cover it with fabric. I used 1 1/2 half of light white fabric, or tulle to make it look for floaty and stuffs. Lay it over the model so that you can see how much you want, how much you don't want, etc.
Once that's taken care of, Tie the neck of the ghost around with Floral wire. Silver or white is preferred so that it wont show as much since it would blend in with the fabric of your choice. Tie the ends together and bend them back under the neck. Then stuff a small ball of the same fabric under the ghost to help form the head shape a little more.
Turn the flashlight on and the room lights off and BOOM! a floating soul has appeared! You did it! :D Feel free to add more embellishments such as eyes, glitter, hook and wire, sound effects, etc. Every person's projects are unique. send pics of your finished work if you can.
