Pimp your tool box!

About

For my birthday last year my partner bought me this brilliant tool chest. I run a lot of art and craft workshops and as a consequence I often have to carry around large quantities of materials and supplies. I am also quite a weakling so having this box on wheels makes life a lot easier for me, instead of lugging big boxes around I can now wheel around! I love my box but decided I needed to make it a bit more personal and relevant to my work. So, I got out my doilies and spray paint and got stencilling.

You Will Need (4 things)

  • bits of Lace
  • old Doilies
  • Spray Paint
  • Tool Box

Steps (3 steps, 20 minutes)

  1. 1

Start by assembling your supplies: bits of lace and old doilies you don't mind getting spray paint on (big bold patterns will come out better than small intricate ones,) spray paint and a face mask (spray paint fumes are not good for you!) and your toolbox. Also, it's a good idea to protect surrounding surfaces with newspaper.

  2. 2

Prepare your tool box, make sure it is clean and dry to give the spray paint a good surface to adhere to.

  3. 3

Arrange your lace on top of your tool box, working on one side at a time. When you're happy with the arrangement get spraying! Make sure you're working in a well ventilated area (preferably outside) and it's a good idea to wear a face mask. Allow to dry and then parade with pride.
