• 

  Step 1

  Make up your cake mix or own yummy cake mix and add red food colouring :D
  be quite generous to get a dark red colour.

• 

  Step 2

  Pour your red cake mix into one of them baking trays for little cakes.
  don't forget cake cases :D

  Step 3

  In the oven at 270c for 20mins or so, you know they are cooked when you can poke them with a fork or something lgihtly and it doesn't leave a hole :)

• 

  Step 4

  when they are done LET THEM COOL !!
  i always want to decorte things straight away in my impatience >.<

• 

  Step 5

  While you are waiting for them to kool we can make the buttercream icing :D
  you add a big dollop of butter/maragine and lots and lots of cing sugar into a bowl and mix mix mix until it's smooth enough to be spreadable
  add a drop of milk to help it mix smoother if needed

  Step 6

  now when the cakes are cool we cut the top off with a knife

• 

  Step 7

  then cut that bit that we cut off in half :)
  like when you're making butterfly cakes these are the wings :D

• 

  Step 8

  Cover the main bit of the cake with a layer of buttercreamm

• 

  Step 9

  And place the wings, straight side up flat onto the cakes, leaving some space at the front so we have room for a head

• 

  Step 10

  Them splodge dots of black food colouring on your wings :D

• 

  Step 11

  now add a blob of buttercream for a head and add two little silver balls for eyes, or anything else you want to use for eyes really :)

• 

  Step 12

  and hooray!
  your love bug cakes are done :D
