About

I remember making puppets like this about 20 years ago when I was 11-12 years old. I didn't have the pattern anymore but it was pretty simple to draw.
I'm dropping this somewhere in my hometown as part of The Toy Society project.

Read more about The Toy Society here:
The Toy Society spreads the love throughout the streets of the world. Nothing to it really just a bunch of handmade toys looking for a nice home. People leave their crafty gifts at a random place for someone else to find.

What started as a small street art project in Australia is slowly spreading around the world.

You Will Need (8 things)

  • Sewing Machine
  • Fabric just some scraps you have left
  • 5 Wooden Beads 4 small and 1 big
  • Lace for the collor
  • Felt for the hat
  • Stuffing
  • Glue
  • Wire

Steps (11 steps, 260 minutes)

  1. 1

Cut out the pattern (it's without seam allowance).

  2. 2

Fold the fabric and pin the pattern on the fabric with the top against the fabric fold.

  3. 3

Draw the pattern on the fabric and cut out.

  4. 4

Stitch, leaving the arms and legs open at the ends.

  5. 5

Use chenille wire to make the skelleton like this.

  6. 6

Turn the fabric inside out. Cut a tiny little hole where the neck can stick through and wiggle the skelleton into the body.

Take a needle and thread and close the ends of the arms and one leg. Leave one leg open.

  7. 7

    Now it looks like this.

  8. 8

Now stuf it lightly with some fiberfill to make it snugglier. Don't stuf too much.

  9. 9

Glue the small beads on the ends of the arms and legs.

  10. 10

Make a collor out of the lace. Glue the head on the body. Give it a hat or a wig to complete.

  11. 11

    Done!
