About

this is another one of my college projects.
it is the first garment where I've made the pattern from scratch, and I'm really pleased with the outcomes.

You Will Need (2 things)

  • 2 m black Fabric
  • Zip

Steps (7 steps, 270 minutes)

  1. 1

Once the pattern is drawn, cut the fabric making sure to cut the straight of grain. you need one front piece cut on the fold, and two back pieces.

  2. 2

sew darts to the desired shape in the two back pieces.

  3. 3

pin and sew the pleats around the neckline, towards the centre.

  4. 4

sew the side seams and the shoulder seams. then sew carefully round the armholes and hem.

  5. 5

create a bias binding strip and encase the pleats, giving a neat finish.

  6. 6

sew up the back to the hip line, and sew a zip the rest of the way up, preferably concealing it.

  7. 7

finally, create a simple fabric tube the desired width and length. turn it inside out and tie around the waist, arranging the pleats down the dress.
