So, I say this idea a little while back and thought it'd be really fun to try. Besides, I have way too many defective Lightbulbs and love flowers. :3

You Will Need (5 things)

  • Scissors
  • Container(s) I used this to hold the pieces the lightbulb to avoid a mess
  • Light Bulb s
  • Wire Used to hang the lightbulb you see fit
  • Paint I used nail polish to be cheaper

Steps (7 steps, 60 minutes)

  1. 1

Get a lightbulb that has failed you. I have plenty, I don't know about you.
Here, is where you can play various 'Idea' Jokes. I did as this picture and played with my cat. xD

  2. 2

You can get pliers if you'd like but I used my handy scissors in my ever stubborn ways. Use these to remove the little metal piece by lifting each side and when all of it is sticking up, give it a twist until it removes itself.

  3. 3

As for the purple glass part, there are quite a few ways to remove it but, again, I remain stubborn and use to scissors to insert into the hole the metal piece left and turn it around until it cracked and break. Yes, I'm very aggressive sometimes. x3 Do this carefully not to break the lightbulb (Which hasn't happened to me yet so, you should be okay. Just in case, you can wear gloves).

Okay, now that the purple glass is removed, there will be another glass bubble inside the lightbulb, use scissors, a knife, whatever, to CAREFULLY break it. If you are going to stab at it, do it with caution. You could stab it too hard and break the lightbulb with it.
Shake out the little pieces into the container since the glass bits stick very well into fabrics. Be careful.
There will be a metal wire in there, I used the scissors, you can use your pliers, which ever.

  5. 5

If you used the white light bulbs like myself, clean the white dust out with water, shake it to get everything. It even cleans out whatever glass piece may still be lurking inside.
When its cleared out, let it dry just to make sure there is no resude or anything.

  6. 6

While it drys, get your wires, I used a rubber coated wire that was inside a toy rabbit that got shredded by my dreadful but loveable dogs.
Bend it to hold the lightbulb with is a little tricky but if I got it, you certainly can.

  7. 7

And you got it. I plan to do a long line across my window with lightbulbs but I don't have the hooks yet so this will have to do. Inside is a fake flower as well. Create and design as you wish and have fun.
My brothers flipped when I was tearing the lightbulbs apart but its fun to defy people. ;) Enjoy and be creative. I'll probably be doing more with lightbulbs as time goes by.
