Instructions

  1. “Home” Decoupage Sign Trace your chosen wood letters onto old book pages. Cut out the paper letters and use a matte decoupage medium to adhere them to their corresponding wood letters. Let everything dry.

  2. Once dry, apply decoupage medium over the letters to seal them.

  3. Paint the board with a layer of white chalk-finish paint and let it dry. Then add a layer of light blue chalk-finish paint. When dry, lightly distress the paint with sandpaper so some of the white paint shows through the blue.

  4. Glue the letters onto the board in your desired configuration.

  5. Use a staple gun to staple the twigs to the bottom edge of the board.

  6. Tie the origami birds, or any other ornament of your choice, to the twig with twine. Vary the lengths of twine used to tie on the ornaments so they hang down from the sign at different intervals.

  7. “Love” Sign Use hot glue to create a pattern on the front of the wood letters and let it dry. Once dry, spray-paint the letters with bronze spray paint.

  8. Paint the board with light blue chalk-finish paint and let it dry. Once dry, lightly sand the paint to distress it.

  9. Use a strong adhesive to glue the letters onto the board in your desired configuration.
