About

I want to show you how to sew a super cute Easter bunny (that also is amazing for the rest of the year as a birthday gift or simply a "I like you-"present :-)). It's simple to sew - also for beginners - needs only a little bit of fabric and felt and is finished in almost no time!

You Will Need (7 things)

  • Fabric
  • Felt
  • Polyester Stuffing
  • Embroidery Thread
  • Embroidery Needle
  • Sewing Machine
  • Yarn

Steps (6 steps, 45 minutes)

  1. 1

Download the pattern, print it and cut it out.
I chose to use different fabrics for the front and the back of the bunny.
Pin the pattern on the fabrics and cut it out (both fabrics together so their size will be the same).

  2. 2

The second step ist to sew the felt face on the bunny - I used a pretty quilt stitch here. But you can also use a simple zigtag stitch or a straight stitch.
Now sew the cheeks and the cute little felt heart on the bunny - using a straight stitch with a matching yarn color.

  3. 3

It's time to stitch a bit. With the so called backstitch you will stitch the mouth, the sleepy eyes and - if you like it - whiskers on the cute bunny face.

  4. 4

Now pin the front and the back of the bunny with needles and sew the two parts together (the fabrics are inside out!) – but leave the part open which you will use to turn the little animal inside out.
You have to cut some parts of the cute little bunny: the ears, over the little arms and between the legs.
If you want to have the bunny as a children's toy I recommend to serge the bunny with a zigzag stitch all around – narrower on the parts you cut.

  5. 5

… and this is the best moment when you create toys: When you turn it inside out and see the final creature. Still a very flat bunny – but already a bunny :-)
An asia chop stick will help you turn the ears - but please work carefully!
Now fill the bunny with doll wadding. Eventually you want to put a little rattle in it's tummy.

  6. 6

Finally close the bunny carefully with the so called mattress stitch.

When the bunny is closed you will lead the thread inside of the fabric to one side, get out, pin in and lead it to the other side - and finally let it disappears.
....and.... YOUR BUNNY IS FINISHED! HOORAY!

    :-)
