In this tutorial I show you how to make a fun colourful art journal page using some popular art supplies. This tutorial doesn't have to be done in an art journal, but it's one of my preferred way of creating as in my journals I can be completely free.
In this tutorial I show you how to make a fun colourful art journal page using some popular art supplies. This tutorial doesn't have to be done in an art journal, but it's one of my preferred way of creating as in my journals I can be completely free.
Scribble on the blank page. You can do deep meaningful journaling, use song text or anything that floats your boat, we're going to cover it up in the next step.
Using a brayer and one or two colours, start covering the background.
Using two different colours, add spray inks to the background. Hold your journal vertically to let the inks drip.
Using a black Stabilo All pencil (or you can use a regular pencil or other type of watersoluble pencil) sketch out a simple face.
Activate the lines with a water brush
Add some simple shading to the face with watercolours.
Using black and white paint pens add details to the features (e.g. black pupils, white highlights etc)
As a finishing touch stamp some words in the hair.
