As any other papercrafter I have a lot of leftover embellishments. I would like to share with you an easy way to make good use of your scraps: Make a heart stencil and fill it with all your leftover goodies. You can attach your stencil and make your heart appear on a piece of cardstock, card blanks, on a notebook cover or on almost any surface you like. The opportunities are endless. You can make the heart any theme. Use just baby themed leftovers, or do what I did and make it all about christmas. Use buttons, stickers, pebbles, half pearls and punches to fill your heart stencil. Remove and a heart shape filled with goodies will appear.

Gather all your leftover embellishments: Use colors that match, or pick a theme like christmas. Use stickers, half pearls, buttons and punches. Go nuts!

Make a heart stencil (Or any other shape like a circle or a christmas tree): 1: fold a piece of paper in half. 2: draw a half heart shape against the middle. 3. cut along the line. 4: fold out.

  3. Small 105971 2f2014 12 02 121627 cut%2bkeep%2b009

Position your stencil where wanted, I chose a precut piece of cardstock. Use something low tack to secure, then you will be fine. I used washi tape.

    Let the filling begin!

  5. Small 105971 2f2014 12 02 121654 cut%2bkeep%2b011

I start with the bigger ones and then fill in the gaps with the smaller ones.

  6. Small 105971 2f2014 12 02 121707 cut%2bkeep%2b012

Keep going until you have filled the whole heart.

  7. Small 105971 2f2014 12 02 121723 cut%2bkeep%2b013

Remove the stencil and you will have all your leftovers shaped into a lovely heart. The opportunities are endless. Use your heart as you wish. Cut out and use it as a gift tag or even as an ournament for your christmas tree. I tend to use them making cards. I love cards!

I attached the whole pre cut paper with my scrap heart on to a card blank and made a christmas card :)

Here is another variation I made earlier, a birthday card with text in the middle. Good luck!
