Description

Create this layered floral look for spring or summer! This look is pretty easy, and takes at most 25 minutes! Tools needed: small flat brush and needle brush. Optional: dotting tool, sewing needle. Polish needed: light blue, yellow, dark green, lime green, navy or black, light purple, darker purple, navy, base coat and top coat.

Instructions

  1. Small purpleflwr1

Start by making a figure 8 pattern using your darker purple and a needle brush. Allow some of the design to go off the edge of the nail bed.

  2. Small purpleflwr2

Make another figure 8 over all the existing ones. The shape of the flower should look similar to a four leaf clover.

  3. Small purpleflwr3

Fill in your flower with the same purple using a small flat brush.

  4. Small purpleflwr4

Make varying lines in length and number radiating from the center of the flower using your light purple.

  5. Small purpleflwr5

Make a small square in the center of each flower a needle brush and a dark navy or black.

  6. Small purpleflwr6

Use the tip of a needle brush, a small dotting tool or the tip of a sewing needle to make small yellow dots on the four corners of your square.

  7. Small purpleflwr7

Using your light blue repeat step 1. this making the figure 8 shape in the negative space, slightly overlapping the purple flowers.

  8. Small purpleflwr8

Repeat step 2 also using your light blue. Again the shape should resemble a four leaf clover.

  9. Small purpleflwr9

Repeat step 3. Filling in the shape.

  10. Small purpleflwr10

Using the same light purple as in the purple flowers make lines varying in length and number on each petal radiating from the center.

  11. Small purpleflwr11

Make a small square using your darker purple (the same for the base of the purple flower) in the center of your blue flower.

  12. Small purpleflwr12

Repeat step 6. placing yellow dots on the four corners of each purple square.

  13. Small purpleflwr13

Using your dark green fill in all the negative space. You can use this step to reshape and define the edges of the flowers if needed. Seal with top coat.

  14. Small purpleflwr14

Make small irregular dots using your small dotting tool (which ever used for the yellow dots). This will give the illusion of grass or small leaves to add more depth to the look.
