Description

These were made for Christmas prezzies for people. They're super easy to make and you can make any shape you like! I have shown how to make 3 types of bag. Will possibly update with more pictures soon :)

Instructions

  1. Small 16382

RIBBON DRAWSTRING BAG: Collect together all your supplies (I forgot to photograph the ribbon.

  2. Small 16383

Cut a piece of fabric just over twice the height you want your bag to be and just over the width you want your bag. (yes, that is me)

  3. Small 16385

Fold the fabric in half, with right sides together and sew down both sides * leaving around 1 inch gap at the top unsewn.

  4. Small 16386

Sew down the top of one side into a channel and thread through a piece of ribbon. The ribbon should be double the length of the width of your bag. Make sure your ribbon has the same length either side of the bag then sew a little cross in the middle to stop the ribbon unthreading itself.

  5. Small 16387

(sorry, this is hard to see) Measure half of your bag and then mark an inch or so either side of it.

  6. Small 16511

Cut a little slit at each of these marks and thread the ends of your ribbon through.

  7. Small 16512

Sew the top of the bag like step 4. Make sure you don't sew through the ribbon!!

  8. Small 16513

Fill your bag with lavender heads! Don't overfill it but use enough to give your bag some shape and smell.

  9. Small 16514

Pull the ends of the ribbon and the top of the bag will scrunch up. Tie the ribbon in a bow and put a few stitches through so the bow and bag doesn't come undone and so you can hang the bag up using the ribbon loops.

  10. Small 17352

PLAIN BAG: Follow instructions to the * in step 3. Then follow step 8. Finally sew up the top of the bag with a loop of ribbon in it.

  11. Small 17354

SHAPED BAG: Cut 2 of the shape you want with seam allowances all around.

  12. Small 17355

Sew all around your shape with the right sides together leaving a gap to stuff later on. Remember to sew in a loop of ribbon to hang it up with!

  13. Turn your creation inside out then stuff with lavender.

  14. Sew up the hole you used to stuff the lavender.
