Step 1Using a base of Hedebo buttonhole stitch, insert the needle a few stitches along, from back to front (three stitches away in this example).

Step 2Pull the thread to create a loop. Insert the needle into the loop from back to front.

Step 3Pull the thread to complete one stitch. The method is the same as Hedebo buttonhole stitch. The difference is in the spacing.
