A vintage-inspired evening bag
Update: With a little help from fellow crafters, I finally located the pattern to give proper credit! It's the Topaz Purse by Sylvia Landman, currently available on Kreinek's website. I didn't follow the pattern exactly, as I left off some rounds, and the ruffled drawstring part at the top. I lined it with a shiny beige interior decorating fabric, and used some wooden (bamboo?) purse handles. The ribbon was from a grab bag of leftovers that I bought in the fabric section. If I'm honest, I was a little sad to part from this purse, I guess I should make one to keep!

Apparently, this pattern is no longer available on Kreinek, but is still on Fave Crafts.

First of all, thank you for everyone for the kind comments! @ Christine A., I don't see you why you couldn't use pre-made doilies. If you want the vintage look, you can always dye them with black tea, and set the dye in the dryer. The purse I made wasn't quite a full circle, so you could try either eliminating the ribbons and wrapping the top of the doily around the handle, or just play with it to see what shape works best, pinning it in place while you see what works.

I want one! I don't crochet (should probably learn) so do you think this could be made using store bought or vintage round doilies? I have bamboo handles that I tore off a straw purse that was pretty beat up and going to be thrown out anyway. I was going to use them to make a book cover purse, but LOVE this idea for them even better.
