When Jake (Jake Romano Art) designed my logos and banners, he also designed this little persona of me! I've been meaning to make her scarf for myself forever, so here it finally is! :D

  • Step 1

    Finished dimensions-
The circumference of the cowl is 24 inches, so it will fit comfortable over your head. The length of your cowl is up to you. I made mine 12 inches long.

    Materials-
I used Red Heart Super Saver worsted weight yarn in spring green with a US8/6mm circular needle. You will also need scissors and a tapestry/darning needle.

    Abbreviations-
    STS - Stitches
    K - Knit
    P - Purl

  • Step 2

    Ok, let's get started!~

    Casting on:
Using the long-tail cast-on, cast on 83 sts and join in a round. Be extra careful not to twist your stitches.

Feel free to place a stitch marker at the beginning of your round. It will be helpful when you go to bind off. Or you can use what's left of your cast-on tail to help find it.

  • Step 3

    Setting up:
    Row 1: K3, P3 around

When you come to the end of the row, there will only be 2 stitches left to purl. That's ok! Purl the first stitch of the next row, then knit the next 3 stitches, then purl the next 3. This will create the "swirl" effect. You will continue in this pattern for the entirety of the cowl.

  • Step 4

    Ending:
When you achieve your desired length (I worked mine for 12 inches), find the beginning of the round. Starting from there, bind off in pattern. Break yarn and weave in the ends.
