Based on Knook Hat by Amanda M.
this is an extra long version of my nook hat. (these are available in my etsy store shameless plug). this hat fits child through adult, super stretchy and warm.
I made the beginning of the hat the same way- the only change is in the decrease rows- I marked the center back of the hat (where I do the stripe change) and decreased one stitch per stripe , alternating sides of the center back while doing so.
I used red heart soft yarn and the h knook.
