    Ok! Let's get started! :D

    Flap-

Using the long-tail cast on, start with 36 sts.
Row 1-5: Work in k2p2 rib.
Row 6-10: Knit 4 rows in stst (ending on a WS/purl).
Row 11: Knit 6 sts, bind off 3, knit 7, bind off 3, knit 7, bind off 3, knit 7.
Row 12: Purl 7, cast on 3 sts, purl 7, cast on 3 sts, purl 7, cast on 3 sts, purl 6.
Row 13-22: Work in stst for another 10 rows ending on a WS/purl row.

  2. 2

    Body-

Row 23 (RS): Knit across row to end, then cast on 40 sts and join in a round (76). Be careful not to twist stitches.
Using the magic loop method, separate your stitches into two halves (38 and 38), being sure that the rows you did for the bottom flap are centered. (1, 36, 1) This will be helpful when shaping the "neck."

Knit around for the length of your hot water bottle, stopping when you are just below the "shoulders."

  3. 3

    Neck-

Next Round: Slst, k2tog, pull slst over, knit to the end of the first half of the round, slst, k2tog, pull slst over, knit to the end of the round
Repeat this round 9 more times. 36 sts remain.
Work in k2p2 for 15 rounds.
    Bind off in pattern.
    Weave in all ends.

    Buttons-

Sew buttons onto the corresponding side of the cozy so the buttons will fit comfortably into the holes.
