Making up Sew the head seam, stuffing firmly as you go. The seam will be at the front of the head, covered by the dark brown face section. Sew the front seam of the body and stuff with toy filling. Fold the base section up and sew it to the body, adding a little more stuffing if needed and inserting two 2.5cm (1in) diameter coins to support the cat in a sitting position. Sew the lower part of one back leg seam and slide a length of chenille stick inside. Repeat for the other back leg. Using the photograph for guidance, pin the upper
part of each back leg to either side of the body, making sure they are evenly spaced at the back and front of the cat. Sew in place, adding a little toy filling to give the
thigh definition. Sew the lower leg to the side of the cat
to secure. Sew the seams of one front leg and slide a length of chenille stick inside. Repeat for the other leg. Sew the front legs to the body on either side of the front seam, making sure they are straight. Sew the head to the body, with the cast-on edge at the neck and the shaped part of the head at the back. Using the photograph for guidance, pin the face section in place covering the seam at the front of the head and with the cast-on edge at the base of the head. The cast-off edges will form the bridge of the nose. Place a small amount of stuffing behind the face section to give definition and sew it in place. With WS together, sew one ear piece to one ear lining to make one ear. Repeat for the second ear. Using the photograph for guidance, sew the ears to the top of the head. Using the photograph for guidance, sew the eyes in place. Sew the nose in place using black yarn and embroider a mouth using black linen thread. Thread black linen thread through the face to make whiskers. Sew the side seam of the tail and slide a length of chenille stick inside. Sew the tail to the back of the body, between the back legs. Place the collar around the cat’s neck and sew the cast-on and cast-off edges together.
