Knitted Bow Headbands

I altered a tutorial I found online to make these sweet headbands.

About

This past week, I got back into knitting, and decided to try to make something besides your standard scarf. By learning a few new techniques, I knitted up these cute little headbands using a tutorial on the Lion Brand website.
If you are having trouble learning techniques needed to do this project, searching for them on YouTube is really helpful.

You Will Need (4 things)

  • Yarn (I used two different colors for each headband)
  • Knitting Needles (I used U.S. size 10)
  • Plastic Headband
  • Goop Glue

Steps (5 steps, 40 minutes)

  1. 1

Follow the instructions on the link listed above. Lion Brand will ask you to make an account to view the tutorial, but it's free, so I would go for it!
The site gives you the option to make a headband with a larger or smaller bow. I made the smaller bow.
BUT when it gets to the part about sewing the ends of the headband together, STOP! Keep reading MY directions...

  2. 2

After you have the band and bow knitted, smear Goop along the outside of your thin plastic headband (I got mine from the Dollar Tree - a pack of 4 for $1!).

  3. 3

Press the band you knitted onto the gluey side of the headband. You may need to fold the band's ends over to the inside of the plastic headband and glue them there.

  4. 4

Figure out where you want to place the bow you knitted. Put some glue on the back of the bow and press it on to your headband.

  5. 5

You have to let Goop dry for 24 hours. Now you're done!!! Wear it with pride! Make one for a friend!
