Step 1
Apply seam binding to back shoulder edges. Sew front and back together at shoulders.

Step 2Sew bias tape around sides and back of neckline, leaving 5/8 in (1.5 cm) overhang at each end. Clip into corners of blouse. Fold tape to the wrong side and topstitch.

Step 3Fold and stitch tucks on wrong side of front. Press tucks as shown. Apply seam biding across top and bottom of tucks.

Step 4
Topstitch over tucks as shown, using a guide (piece of card, marker chalk, sewing machine hem guide foot) to sew straight lines. (The center front neckline just above the tape will be a raw edge.)

Step 5
Sew sleeves to blouse, matching notches.

Step 6Sew underarm and side seams.

Step 7Fold sleeve hems, then sew with a zigzag stitch.

Step 8
Fold blouse hem, then sew with a zigzag stitch.
