Klompjes Refab

Cute little wooden shoes, ugly designs refab through decopauge & stickers

I had a pair of not so attractive USB klompen laying around from souvenirs and as cute as wooden shoes are, these were rather ugly so they just hung out in my desk drawer till now ;-). I got crafty and pulled out some of my stickers and started eying things up. The ugly yellow one came out cute after I carefully removed the old style farm look (I like my worn out and worked look farm klompen better...LOL) and replaced it with cute stickers and a couple coats of Mod Podge. So I tried my hand at decoupage for a first time on the unattractive Gazelle (yey, free promo with a new bike...hahahahaha) one which was still in it's original box (1 ugly one was enough to unpack...LOL) with some Dutch gift wrap that had the authentic blue and white designs and Mod Podge (I LOVE that stuff!). I wanted it to look Delft Blue like porcelain. I'd say I came close ;-). It was a lot of fun and I think they came out good enough that now I can proudly put them on top of my desk. ;-D
