Kitten Knitting Needle Ends

A great project for all the crazy cat-loving knitters out there.

This weekend has been quiet and lovely and it’s been amazing, especially compared to the last few weeks which have been ungodly busy. I think I might have actually gotten to sit down at some point this weekend. It’s been fantastic. I also spent a lot of time trying to learn new stitches and whilst doing this it occurred to me that the ends of my knitting needles were incredibly boring. I know that that’s an incredibly silly thing to think of whenever you’re in the midst of a project but I thought they would look better with a bit of decoration. The next step was figuring what goes well/looks good/fits over needle ends and that’s when I came up with the idea to use clay to make a cat silhouette. I can only assume that somewhere in my mind I was thinking “cats love yarn and old crazy cat ladies love to knit,” and it all just added up from there.

This is pretty easy all you have to do is roll your clay into a ball then smoosh it over your needle ends and manipulate it until it takes on the shape that you want. Bake at whatever your clay instructions say and allow to cool. Decorate further however you would like.
