Clean out a junk drawer to find the base for these upcycled earrings.
There’s something about keys that have so much appeal. For these earrings, the keys don’t even have to match. I selected some that had a little patina to them because I do love that wabi sabi look. To add femininity to them, resin flowers and glass pearls were also used.

    Wipe/clean key. Seal any patina on the keys with a wax paste (like Renaissance Wax or Johnson’s floor wax paste). Allow the paste to cure.

    Using a small drop of the E6000, adhere one flower to each key. Allow them to fully dry before handling.

    Gather jewelry-making supplies: pearls, eye pins, ear wires, jump rings, and pliers (not pictured).

    String a pearl onto each of the eye pins. Bend, clip, and form a simple loop on the pins.

    Use the bent and flat nose pliers to twist open the jump rings.

    Slide a pearl and a key onto each of the jump rings. Close the rings.

    Twist open the loop on each of the ear wires and slide the loop at the top of the pearls onto them, making sure the flower on the key faces front. Close the loop and wear!
