Really easy and cute Kawaii mushroom made of felt- the felt I used was double sided- Red polka dot on one side and white on the other, I'd reccomend using this for this project, if not then you can use red felt and white felt seperately.
Really easy and cute Kawaii mushroom made of felt- the felt I used was double sided- Red polka dot on one side and white on the other, I'd reccomend using this for this project, if not then you can use red felt and white felt seperately.
Cut out a circle paper template, about 5 X 5 inches is ideal.
Use the template to cut out the pattern for your mushroom head in felt.
Using a running stitch, hand sew around the edge of the circle using a thick thread and large needle.
So it looks like this!
Then pull the thread tight so it bunches up the circle...
...Fill with toy stuffing and tie in a double knot nice and tight. This is your mushroom head done.
Now for the stalk! Cut a peice of white felt (I used the underside of this felt) about 8in long and 1.5 in in height.
The idea is to roll this like a swiss roll into a stalk- Using more thick thread (I would recommend using white if you have it-I dont), create a small fold and sew it down- this will be the beggining of your roll.
The roll it up tight!
Once rolled tight, secure it with the needle and thread and sew along the loose edge, it'll look a little like a tampon! :)
Draw a face on the stalk using a sharpie, and put the stalk inside the mushroom head, secure with a needle and thread and your done!
