Instructions

Firstly a note about supplies: You will need the pictured jewellery findings. I got mine from eBay, but these items are widely available in craft stores. Make sure your jump rings will fit through the bail end you have chosen (most will state size in mm). I searched for a while to find rope which looks satin in texture and is therefore comfortable to wear as a bracelet. This piping cord used widely in curtain upholstery was available by the metre on eBay from this seller. Make sure to buy the non fringed version. IMPORTANT – When choosing your cord, be sure to check the circumference so that it fits easily into your bail caps. I chose 7 mm cord and 7.3 mm caps.

So let’s get started. First you will need to measure a length of cord around your wrist and cut to size.

Be sure to use sharp scissors to minimise the unravelling of the cord.

Next up, to help the ends of the rope cord go easily into the bail caps, you will need to tape them. Remember not to tape too far up the rope cord otherwise it will be seen once the bail is attached.

Now cover the tape in your super glue. Be careful not to use too much, as you could end up sticky for the next step!

Attaching a bail is as easy as pushing it onto the cord. It is best to leave the glue to dry for a while before attaching any findings.

    Repeat for the other end!

Now all that’s left is to add your clasp. Attach a jump ring to one end, and a jump ring and lobster clasp the the other end.

Close the clasp and your bracelet is complete! I am planning to load up my bracelets in lots of pretty pastel tones.
