So easy! its winter and i wanted 2 wear a mini skirt but couldn't find 1 in my closet or thrift stores around here so i got an idea, use my capri jeans =) anyone can do this, this is my 1st real sewing project...that i'm proud of!!!
So easy! its winter and i wanted 2 wear a mini skirt but couldn't find 1 in my closet or thrift stores around here so i got an idea, use my capri jeans =) anyone can do this, this is my 1st real sewing project...that i'm proud of!!!
Find the jean you want to cut, it doesn't matter which one. measure the length that you want your skirt 2 be...how short i mean. and mark it!
Now cut the seams, front and back...the front has 2 be cut up to the crotch part right where the zipper is, and cut the back, leaving about 5"inches from the waistband.
Now is time 2 pin and get ready for sewing...it can be sewn by hand i've done it but not so easy!!
When you pin it should look like this, but you can do it any way you like. either in the front or back, or both, there will be a space of no fabric, you can cut a square or watever piece you need from the legs you have left and pin it. OR be more creative and add another fabric u like and pin it.
Now time 2 sew!!! you can use any type of stitch u prefer i used zigzag 1st then secured the fabric with straight, i also used 2 different colors or thread inside is white, outside black.
