Cake for my friend who loves Green Lantern and Nightmare Before Christmas
So I asked one fried what the birthday girl liked and she said green lantern. Then the birthday girl asked for Nightmare Before Christmas themed cake. Therefore the cake in the picture. I figured Jack Skellington could pull a Superman, but with Green Lantern's uniform. The process: 2 boxes of strawberry cake mix, 5 eggs, 2/3 cup of oil, and water (forgot how much- but you just double what one box asks for minus one egg) and 2 tablespoons of vanilla instant pudding. Bake. Cool. Now I made my own vanilla/cream cheese icing, but you can just buy it. I originally wanted to pipe the design onto the cake but I bought the can of betty crockers black icing. 1. Its not even black 2. Its horrible to work with and hurts your finger. So in the mad rush to finish- I painted it on with food coloring. and used extra icing for the green lantern logo and his hands. Then used the betty crocker icing as decoration around the cake with sprinkles.
