So my dad and I go for lots of rides on his motorcycle in the summer. And I like to listen to my iPod when we're riding. But it's really hard to change or pause my music while going 60mph with the wind whipping all around you, and trying not to drop it. I normally keep it in my jacket pocket, with a zipper, but getting it in and out without dropping it, also difficult. So I came up with this. I did this without taking pics, sorry, but it wasn't all that hard. So you'll get the idea. I sewed it all by hand, with triple stitching all over. I wanted to make sure the stitching wouldn't come apart while riding.

First I took two types of fabric and cut them larger then my iPod. Then I sewed the sides and bottom together.
I cut two holes at the bottom of the fabric for the Hold button, and the headphone jack. Then I stitched up the ends.
I traced the screen and dial of my iPod onto the front of the fabric. Then I cut it out and stitched up the ends. I noticed that after I stitched up the screen window and put my iPod in that the top of my iPod kept popping out through the window. I didn't think it would do that. Glad I checked before going on the bike!
So I got some plastic and cut three layers larger then the window on the bag. Then I sewed them on. That way I can see, and it won't fall out. Hopefully. Fingers crossed. XX
I recommend using a clear plastic cup for the plastic. You want a plastic that you can sew through, but not something that's going to tear in two seconds. I used some cheap plastic, hence why I did three layers.
Then I took my shoelace and measured how long I wanted it to hang around my neck, and then sewed the ends to the inside of the bag. It hits right between my boobs and belly button. The bag will hang upside down, that way I don't have to bother turning it around while riding.
I took a safety pin and pined it to the top flap that will fold over. I pinched the pin shut with pliers. Then I sewed a shoelace piece to the middle of the back. I made sure not to sew through both layers, I used two fabrics so it would make a pocket. Now it ties shut, and I have a small pocket to keep my lip gloss in.
Now I have something to safely hold my iPod while riding the open road. And I can still see the screen and change songs and turn the volume up and down.
NOTE: If you've never been on a motorcycle, and you someday want to ride one, I would tie your hair back really tight!! Like a tight french braid, bangs tucked under a bandana kinda tight. The wind blowing through your hair equals lots and lots knots!! I swear I ripped out half of my hair the first time I went riding.
