Draw me! Pretty please? With a cherry on top?

You Will Need (1 thing)
- Pencil
Steps (6 steps, 15 minutes)
-
1
I use an H pencil and basic shapes to start this drawing, which looks kind of space-agey at this stage.
-
2
I refine the shape of the glass, adding a fancy curved edge. Then I indicate the blob of whipped cream and the cherry.
-
3
I continue developing the forms, adding streams of fudge on the ice cream and wavy lines on the glass to indicate a reflective surface.
-
4
I add more details to the glass and start shading the fudge so I don’t get confused. Note that you can see some of the fudge through the glass. I also refine the cherry stem.
-
5
Now I shade all over the ice cream and glass, adding tone to the cherry and filling in the rest of the fudge. I also shade the glass, leaving some areas white.
-
6
I use a B pencil for the final rendering, making the fudge the darkest value and softening the shading on the ice cream. To finish, I erase some areas of the glass to make it look shiny.
Tip: For highlights, save the white of the paper or lift them out with an eraser.
