Brighten up your Home or Office with this silly Tiny Hoop Embroidery. Embroidery kit courtesy of Dandelyne's Initial Embroidery Hoop Kit!
You will need: - Dandelyne's Initial Embroidery Hoop Kit. [Kit Includes: Small Hoop. Multiple Colors of Fabric and Thread. Needles. Carbon Paper, and Traceable letters and shapes. ] - Scissors. - Crochet Hook (or anything sturdy enough to trace with Carbon Paper). - Cardboard. - Hot Glue.
For this project, I used a Blue fabric that came with the kit. Using your desired font, cut out the "B," "U," "T," and, "S." Place the carbon paper on top of your fabric, and arrange the letters within your hoop (remember to make room for another "T." Using the sharp end of the Crochet hook (or other instrument of choice), trace the letters to transfer onto the fabric. I also chose to use the Heart shape to fill in space.
Loosen the fastener at the top of your hoop. Place the fabric on top of it, and gently push down with the inner hoop. Once it is aligned to your liking, tighten the frame. I find this to be easier to start this way, and set the fabric in the correct way, later. Do whatever is comfortable for you.
Take 2 to 3 strands of the Yellow embroidery thread, and thread this through your needle. Start your stitches from the back of your work. Proceed around each letter in Back Stitch.
Having clean work can be tough. I like to weave my thread around in the back to keep my work looking semi-neat (and to avoid tangles later on).
Next, we're going to start on the heart. Thread your needle with 3 strands of Pink thread. As with the lettering, we are going to back-stitch around. Once you are done back-stitching, Fill in your heart with long stitches. I felt there needed to be a bit more decoration, so I added long spikes around the heart to make it pop.
Next, let's outline out letters in blue to help make them pop as well. Thread your needle with 3 strands of Blue thread, and back stitch around each letter, creating an outline.
Warm up your glue gun, and cut two pieces of cardboard to fit into the back of your hoop. Place one piece of cardboard inside the hoop, and carefully glue the excess fabric pieces to it (IT WILL BE HOT!). NOTE: If your cardboard has a design on one side, be sure that it is facing you, and not the inside of your hoop. Otherwise, you may see it's pattern through the fabric. Next, glue the second piece on top of the first piece of cardboard and fabric to hide the ends.
