how to yarnbomb a bike... technique can be used to yarnstorm anything.. you need to be able to crochet and to make pom-poms! This bike was yarnstormed by me ( @calamitycrochet )and @ladycassandra84 with pom-poms by @laurita_king .

Instructions

  1. Take bike apart, the wheels and chain need to be removed from the bike (you can skip this step but the rest of the yarnbomb will be tricky). Then wash any parts of the bike which are dirty.

  2. Small dscn0481

Create strips to cover the wheels and we also made butterfly and flowers to sew onto the wheels. Sew the crochet to the wheels

  3. Small dscn0504

Crochet strips to cover each of the bars on the body of the bike. Sew these together to cover the whole of the bike.

  4. Small dscn0505

Use amigurumi to cover the handle bars (I used a rainbow colours).

  5. Small dscn0490

Make lots of pom poms and use them to cover the bike seat. This was done by crisscrossing lots of wool over the top of the seat and then tying the pom poms to the wool.

  6. Small dscn0501

Use amigurumi to make gloves for the bikes peddles.

  7. Small dscn0507

If your bike has a stand make a stripe to go around it. We made ours into a flower. Then you are done...enjoy your bike :)
