Description

Here is the tutorial on how to weave on the loom I showed you. You can weave yarn or cut up fabric.I like to use my old clothes and pretty fabric. Again,if something is unclear Im happy to give answers to your questions! :)

Instructions

  1. Small sdc12184 1275909559

Get your fabric or clothes and cut thin strips from it. The longer the strips are the easier it will be to weave them.

  2. Small sdc12185 1275909705

Tie the strip to the first yarn. *You can sew it instead if you want to avoid lumps from the knots.

  3. Small sdc12186 1275909857

Be sure to leave out at least two fingers of yarn before you start, because on the end you will need to cut and tie the yarn.

  4. Small sdc12187 1275909944

For me its easier if I lean the loom against the table or a chair.

  5. Small sdc12188 1275910023

Now to start the weaving! Pull the fabric under the second yarn.

  6. Small sdc12189 1275910135

Above the third, under the fifth, above the sixth, under the seventh...

  7. Small sdc12190 1275910208

I think you get the picture. :)

  8. Small sdc12192 1275910269

When your turning around make sure that if your fabric is under, you pull it above in the turn.Like on the picture.

  9. Small sdc12194 1275910461

Now if you want to change color or your fabric is out, always do it on the end.Never in the middle.

  10. Small sdc12195 1275910607

Get your new strip of fabric and tie or sew them together.

  11. Small sdc12196 1275910694

    Keep on weaving.

  12. Small sdc12197 1275910739

Use your fingers to press the weaving together.

  13. Small sdc12199 1275910797

Like this. You dont want to have holes in your weaving.

  14. TAKING YOUR WORK OFF THE LOOM (when you are done with the size you wanted to weave dont forget to leave two fingers of yarn on the end too.For the same reasons as on the beginning.)

  15. Small sdc12201 1275911022

Cut off the yarn from the nails.

  16. Small sdc12204 1275911084

Tie the yarns together two by two.

  17. Small sdc12205 1275911138

Then tie them together again two by two. Do the same on the other side too.

  18. Small sdc12207 1275911224

This is one of my work taken off the loom.

  19. Small sdc12208 1275911276

If you sew the strips of fabric together when weaving them, you will avoid these. If you tie them together like I did,to get rid of them you will need to pull them in the weaved piece with a crochet hook.

When your done, you can use them as rugs, sew bags from it,use them for seat covers... I have one in my bathroom as a rug.
