How To Tie A Corset

The problem

I write this for Hope, because for once, I have knowledge I am proud to own, and wish to share, for those who have useless boyfriends who expand their mind all day on knowledge not including corset-lacing, or for those who don't even have a boyfriend to lace them up!

You Will Need (2 things)

  • A Corset
  • Hands

Steps (5 steps, 5 minutes)

  1. 1

As per diagram, red is right and lilac is left for your right an left arm. Just familiarise yourself so you realise you have a loop of lace for a "strap" and can easily lose which loop you need while tying it up.

  2. 2

Tie the straps in a single knot. Pull this knot tight, tugging at the top and bottom webbings of lace to even them out. Now put your left finger on it to hold it tight.

If you just want to be cinched only at the waist and want room for eating and breathing and movement, then tug especially at the top- and bottom-most parts of your string column to relax these parts when adjusting your lacing tightnes. It gives you more of an hourglass figure, but doesn't push up your boobs so much.

with your left hand still on the knot, grab a right-hand strap 2/3 of the way down it and bring it to the knot, making sure you pivot your hand to grab the strap at its root as well (forming a bunny ear ready to tie up).

  3. 3

grab the other strap with your left hand, letting go of the knot, and re-tightening a little if need be, and do the same thing.

  4. 4

you will end up with two bunny ears held by two fists ready to tie up and two "straps" hanging down. This is nifty since if you loosened your corset a little during this process, you can just pull at the bunny ears again to tighten it up again!

  5. 5

    tie it up.

be careful in tying up a knot with these bunny ears. Don't mix them up with the straps hanging down and DON'T get clumsy with handling and tying up 4 strips of lace in each hand or you'll have to start again.

You'll just have to heavily exaggerate you movements to avoid error.
