When you are using shelving in your decor it is not always easy to find old, rusty farmhouse brackets to go with your decor. You can find these new brackets at Home Depot for only a couple of dollars each. They are a great shape and are easy to paint to look like the rusty, old brackets you love.
Begin by painting the new brackets black. Dab it on and don't worry about covering all of the silver. Leaving a little of the silver exposed gives it an authentic look.
Once the black paint is dry, dab on some chocolate brown paint to mimic rust. Again, don't cover up all of the black and silver underneath.
Your new rusty brackets are now ready to be attached to a piece of reclaimed wood.
