I just made one and I don't have any candles for it yet, but I have a question. How long can you keep the candle lit before it messes up the flower or if you have a special sort of cover for the candle?

i use stones or sometimes sand at the base first i place the candle then just fill the stones around it to keep it away from plastic contact....so it doesn't harms... don't worry

i use amall stones to keep it away from making contact with plastic section...letme tell you how....first fill a layer of sand at extreme base....its keeps away the melt of wax from capand then place candle....after that put some stones around it.keeps the mess away....dont worry
