A lot of people really seem to like these clay cupcakes, and now I will show you how to make them! If you don't want to make them, you can buy them on my Etsy (mydogandi) for about 5.50 (including shipping). Thanks for reading! Sorry that my pictures are horrible- the camera I was using is pretty old.

Instructions

  1. Small cupcake 001 1279217004

First, take your base. (basically a stubby log shaped at one end to look like a cupcake). I usually bake them before putting on the frosting so I don't distort them. To make the vertical lines (as if it were a real cupcake wrapper, use a toothpick and just press slightly going around the whole cupcake.

After you have your base finished, (i would highly recommend baking them first, then putting the frosting on) you need to pick out your frosting color! It doesn't matter what color you choose. Roll that into a ball (you wont need much), and squish it onto the base... kinda pull at the edges so it goes over and doesn't look perfect.

After that, choose another color and roll that into a thin snake. You won't need much.

With a knife or other kinda sharp tool, cut about 5 or 6 tiny pieces (try to get them pretty even) and roll them into balls. Press these onto the frosting of your cupcake. (these are your sprinkles!) It is also fun to do multi colors, be creative!

To add your final topping, roll a tiny piece of red clay into a ball and place it right on top of your cupcake. Be creative with your toppings, and try to vary them so that they are not all cherries.

If you want to make your cupcake a charm, do this before you bake it. You can either take an eye pin or a bit of wire and stick it through the cherry. Then you can bake according to the directions on your clay package. (usually 275 for 15 minutes)

Now you can put a coat of gloss on (optional). Just take a paintbrush, doesn't have to be fancy, and a bit of gloss and just paint it on. Let that dry according to the instructions on the bottle.

Congrats! You are all done! Enjoy your tasty cupcake.
