How To Make A Plushie!

FINALLY!!

About

I finally decided to make a plushie tutorial, for all of you :D
It's really easy, but it takes some time. If you work 1-2 hours a day, it should be finished in 2 days.
Now, for the patterns. The patterns for the body are mostly the same for every plushie (some have bigger heads or have skinnier bodies, but that's easy to edit), but for the hair and clothes, you might encounter some problems. If you need the right patterns for your plushie, I'll be glad to help you :D
M’kay. This is a how-to for the plushie only, not for the clothes. But I’ll add those later, I promise ;D
I hope this will help you!

You Will Need (6 things)

  • Felt . 2 pieces skin coloured, 1 for the hair, 1 for the top or shirt, 1 for the pants. It all depends on which clothes the plushie will wear.
  • Scissors
  • Thread
  • Needle
  • Textile Marker Pen(s)
  • Fabric Glue

Steps (27 steps, 180 minutes)

  1. 1

Take you skin coloured felt and draw a shape like this on it. Do realise the actual head will be slightly smaller than this pattern.

  2. 2

    Cut out two times.

  3. 3

Sew the two pieces on to each other.

  4. 4

    Done.

  5. 5

    Turn inside out and stuff.

  6. 6

Close the gap with thread and needle. Now the basic shape of the head is finished.

  7. 7

Give it a face :D This is an easy one, but I made a paint file (XD) with some other expressions, just to give you inspiration: http://img144.imageshack.us/img144/8936/facesma2.png

  8. 8

Now, the body. Cut out two pieces like this. Make sure the body isn't too big compared with the head, because that would take away all the cuteness.

  9. 9

Sew, but leave the "neck" part open.

  10. 10

    Turn inside out and stuff.

  11. 11

    Close.

  12. 12

The main piece of the body is done! Now, on to the arms and legs!

  13. 13

These are the patterns for the arms. You see they are basically the same as the patterns for fingerdolls. Well, they have the same shape XD
So, sew them together like you do with fingerdolls, turn inside out and stuff

  14. 14

Annnd these are the patterns for the legs. (they should be a tiiiny bit shorter tough. My bad >_>)

  15. 15

Sew the arms to the body.

  16. 16

Add tattoos or whatever you like. Mine has stiches on his arm, from a motorcycle accident. * proud *

  17. 17

Sew the legs to the body. Now make sure the arms and legs are attached to the body like this: http://img159.imageshack.us/img159/5798/bodytp2.png
Can you see the difference between them? It's important, because otherwise, you wouldn't be able to move the arms, or the plushie wouldn't be able to stand.

  18. 18

    The body is finished!

  19. 19

    Now, the hair.
Well, IF you do the hair, make the patterns (or ask for them :p) You should have a back, a front, and two little pieces to cover the "bald" spots.

  20. 20

    Glue on to the head.

  21. 21

Okay okay, I was making Taiji, so he needs a hat! You can skip this step if yours doesn't need one, but if he does, then here we go!
    These are the patterns.

  22. 22

Sew the ends of the loooong piece together. Don't turn inside out.

  23. 23

Sew the top of the hat onto it.

  24. 24

    Now turn inside out.

  25. 25

Sew the bottom of the hat onto it.

  26. 26

Now you're done with the hat!

  27. 27

Then sew the head onto the body, aaand....
    Your plushie is finished!

Now he still needs clothes. I will make how-to's for clothes too, don't worry.
