Instructions

  1. Small mini take out box with score lines

First step is to use card or some other reinforced material to draw out the template of a take out carton on to. (or you could just use one of the cartons you already have) But remember to cut a circular hole for the light fixture to go through at the base of the box. Roughly 3.5cm diameter if your in the UK. In my project I used mirrored card (as part of my A-Level).

  2. Small eagub

At this stage of cutting out the template you can decide whether or not you want a pattern or other detail on the box to let out light. I laser cut a butterfly pattern onto the box when I cut it out, but using a paper puncher of a circle or love hearts will work just as well in creating more holes for light.

For the legs, you could use chopsticks that you pierce through the four corners of the shade's base and hot glue them in to place. In my project I used the 3D Printer to create a table like base structure to hold it all together, the legs designed in the style of chopsticks.

Once you've got everything stuck in place and your holes made in the box, you can put your light fixture through the base and Vuella... Your lamp!
